Daily Manufacturing Report format for sugar factories
A Daily Manufacturing Report records one crop day of crushing, juice, sugar, by-products, losses and stoppages, with a day figure and a to-date figure for each line. We found no single national format, so the tables below list typical fields for you to adapt.

An Excel layout with today and to-date columns. Adapt it to your state's format and have your chemist check it.
How to use this format
The tables below set out the fields in our Excel template. Each numeric field has two value columns in the sheet: Today and To date.
The fields draw on two public references. One is a DMR calculation sheet from Sugar Process Tech. The other is an RT 7(C) monthly manufacturing report filed by Nava Bharat Ventures in 2020, which shows Indian reporting practice. Your mill's own format, and any return your state or the Centre requires, come first.

Before sign-off
This is general information. Confirm formulas with your chemist and any statutory return against the current notification. SugarOS, a sugar mill ERP, includes a Daily Manufacturing Report with a mass balance.
- Cane crushed agrees with weighbridge records and yard stock.
- Bagged sugar agrees with godown receipts.
- The time account adds up to the hours in the crop day.
- To-date figures equal the previous day's figures plus today.
- The chief chemist and the manufacturing head have signed.
Frequently asked questions
Is the DMR a statutory form?
We found no national DMR form. It works as an internal report. Returns such as P-II have their own formats, so check what your state and the Centre require.
Why report by crop day and not calendar date?
Crushing runs through the night, so mills close each day at a set hour. Using the same crop day across cane, lab and sugar records keeps the figures comparable.
What is the difference between Today and To date?
Today covers the crop day. To date is the running season total. Percentages to date should be worked from season totals, and should not be averaged from daily percentages.
Who prepares the DMR?
Practice varies by mill. Usually the laboratory or manufacturing team prepares it and senior technical staff review it. Your mill should record who prepared and who checked each report.
